Be sure that your emergency contacts have agreed to be listed as such, and that they know they may be contacted by Virtual Security Guard.ħ.Make sure to add your emergency contacts as Shared Users on your Ring account so they can view the video in any SMS alerts they receive.In some situations, your emergency contacts may get an SMS alert or call from a Rapid Response agent letting them know an event needs attention.When people are detected on your enrolled cameras, you may receive SMS alerts and/or hear Rapid Response agents talking on the camera’s speaker.If it shows a a red X, the service is notarmed. You will see Virtual Security Guard on the arming takeover screen, along with a green check mark.Note: You can turn off these alerts in the Alert Preferences section of the Virtual Security Guard Control Center. You’ll get an SMS alert that you armed the service.You’ll see the blue banner that says Virtual Security Guard Active on the Ring app’s main dashboard.When Virtual Security Guard is active (in Home or Away Mode): Once you’ve completed enrollment, activate Virtual Security Guard by setting your Alarm Mode to Home or Away. Unenroll the camera from End-to-End Encryption.Ħ.Open the Ring app and tap the three lines (☰) on the top left.To turn off End-to-End Encryption for an enrolled Ring camera: Ring already encrypts your videos by default when they’re uploaded to the cloud and stored on Ring servers. Video End-to-End Encryption must be turned off for cameras enrolled in Virtual Security Guard. Make sure your cameras aren’t using Video End-to-End Encryption. ![]() Note: Motion events are only monitored by a Rapid Response agent if a person is detected.
